Being in the Telecom Industry for more than two decades and continuing, has certainly given me privilege to look at the ever evolving Transition and Transformation phases. The distributed multi-vendor partner products, their life cycle management and service offerings alike, that helps service providers to leverage managing benefits of their ecosystems irrespective of whether the infrastructure resource layer is based on conventional bare-metal servers, or virtualized systems, or the much modernized hybrid-cloud clustering solution, or automation of the existing procedures.
One such initiative where I had opportunity to guide through a team of Python developers, to bring in the Automation concept of migrating very large number of Radio Network Elements from one OSS system to another. Owing to the huge count of network elements, it was in best interest of time and efforts to understand the conventional process first, then compare the Hardware, OS and Software versions of source and destination OSS ecosystems. Find out the feasible and accommodative version of Python on RHEL supported, if possible make use of GitHub in defining the Staged Execution of possible steps. And bingo!! the result was hugely successful!!
